MARBLE BLOCKS SHAPED WITH ‘JUSTICE’ THEME IN KUŞADASI
The International Kuşadası Neopolis Sculpture Symposium, held for the fifth time this year in Kuşadası, Türrkiye's tourism capital, has concluded. Speaking at the closing ceremony, Mayor Ömer Günel said;
"Our sculptors from around the world labored for a month, transforming marble blocks into works of art with the theme of justice. We are delighted to continue to connect Kuşadası with art."
The 5th International Kuşadası Neopolis Sculpture Symposium was held in Kuşadası this year, with the collaboration of Kuşadası Municipality and the Mehmet Nuri Göçen Foundation (MN Göçen Foundation), with contributions from the Marmara Adalar Municipality. Nine sculptors from Türkiye, Estonia, Iran, Italy, Japan, Ukraine, and Bulgaria participated in the symposium. The sculptors spent approximately one month carving a 30-ton marble block in the former camel wrestling field in Kuştur, with the theme of "justice." Clay workshops were also held during the symposium to introduce children to the art of sculpture. The closing ceremony for the symposium was attended by Kuşadası District Governor İbrahim Keklik, Kuşadası Mayor Ömer Günel, deputy mayors and council members, Mehmet Nuri Göçen Foundation representative Ebru Gökçe, Neopolis Sculpture Symposium Curator Özlem Şengönül, and art lovers.
