THE ‘HELLO, WASTE TAXI’ PERIOD STARTS IN KUŞADASI

The “Hello Waste Taxi” application was put into practice by Mayor Ömer Günel within the scope of the “city hygiene mobilization” in Kuşadası. In the application, 4 mini dumper waste vehicles called “garbage taxis” started to provide service. The waste taxis, which can easily reach narrow and steep streets where large waste trucks cannot enter and collect wastes which causes environmental pollution in a short time, also respond to pollution reports made by citizens.

Kuşadası Municipality continues its work to provide a healthier, cleaner, and more hygienic living space for city residents. In this context, the “Hello, Waste Taxi” application was recently launched by Mayor Ömer Günel within the body of Municipal Cleaning Works Department. The waste taxis, which provide service with 4 specially designed vehicles and 8 personnel, easily reach narrow streets where large vehicles cannot enter, and ensure that waste which causes environmental pollution and needs to be collected urgently is disposed of in a short time. The waste taxis, which also evaluate the reports from tradesmen and citizens, collect waste from many different points throughout the city during the day. The waste taxis, which play an active role in the cleaning of Kuşadası, the tourism capital of Türkiye, operate 7 days a week between 09:00-23:00 and can be reached by calling 444 32 09.

“ANOTHER INNOVATIVE STEP IN CITY CLEANING”

Head of Kuşadası Municipality Cleaning Works Department Hakan Bayrak stating that they had taken another innovative step in city cleaning said;

“Our waste taxi application, which focuses on citizen satisfaction and environmental awareness, has now started. With this service, we will act immediately on the wastes which needs to be collected urgently. We have implemented this application in Kuşadası, which is growing and has an increasing population day by day, to provide faster service to the city residents. We think that the waste taxi application will also make a significant contribution to recycling,

"TRADESMEN AND CITIZENS WELCOMED IT WITH PLEASURE

The waste taxi application initiated by Mayor Ömer Günel in Kuşadası was welcomed by tradesmen and citizens. Salih Göçmen, who runs a cafeteria in the touristic bazaar, said;

“We have a business in an area which is the showcase of Kuşadası. Sometimes, due to the workload, we have difficulty taking our garbage to the points where the containers are. In such cases, the waste taxis will now come to our aid.”
