ÖMER GÜNEL

Ömer GÜNEL, who is registered in the Elmalı district of Antalya, was born in Berlin, Germany, in 1971. He completed his primary and secondary education in Antalya. He came to Kuşadası in 1991 and worked in many business branches in order to continue his university education. He completed his undergraduate education at Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Law and his master's degree in Economic Law at Istanbul Bilgi University. He studied European Union Specialization at Istanbul Commerce University Faculty of Law.

Ömer Günel was a candidate for Municipal Council Member A. in the 2004 local elections and a member of the CHP Kuşadası District Executive Board between 2008-2009. In the 2009 local elections, he was elected to the Kuşadası Municipal Council as the first place quota candidate from the CHP Kuşadası Municipal Council Membership list. He carried out his candidacy for Kuşadası Mayor A., ​​which he announced with the participation of thousands of his fellow citizens on April 6, 2013, in a way that set an example for all of Turkey. During this process, we did not knock on doors, we did not shake hands. He sent letters to 68,000 voters in Kuşadası. He actively continued his work with more than 600 volunteers to help the Republican People's Party win the local elections in both Aydın Metropolitan Municipality and Kuşadası Municipality. He worked effectively with his volunteer friends in the June 24 general elections.

He is a member of the Contemporary Lawyers Association. He took active roles in the establishment and management of many associations in Kuşadası, such as the Ada Sports Club Association, Kuşadası Young Businessmen Association, Kuşadası Photography and Cinema Art Association, Kuşadası Motorcycle and Motor Sports Association. Ömer Günel, who is married and has two children, believes that politics will achieve high goals with women and young people, and he receives the greatest support in all his work for this purpose from his wife, teacher Duygu Gül Günel, and his sons Ada Hasan and Rüzgar Ali.

Ömer Günel was elected as the Mayor of Kuşadası Municipality as a Nation Alliance Candidate from the Republican People's Party in the Local Elections of 31 March 2019.
